09 Apr PEIIA approves bylaw changes, including T.Ag. designation
At our recent Annual Meeting on April 7th in Charlottetown, the membership of the PEIIA unanimously approved a series of changes to the Institute’s by-laws. The revised by-laws can be accessed on the About Us page.
The most significant change in our by-laws concerns the replacement of our previous designation “Permit to Practice Agrology” or PPA with “Technical Agrologist” or T.Ag. This brings the PEIIA in line with other provincial Institutes of Agrology. In addition, it was approved by the membership to allow Technical Agrologists to serve on the PEIIA Council.
The Technical Agrologist designation applies to individuals that are working in the agriculture industry in a professional capacity but do not meet the minimum education requirements for Professional Agrologist designation.
