Become a Member

Registering with the P.E.I. Institute of Agrologists ensures that you are legally licensed to practice Agrology in the Province of Prince Edward Island.

As a registered Agrologist, your clients are assured they are dealing with a professional who is qualified and competent to provide the latest knowledge and advice on agriculture and related areas. Potential clients and employers can be confident that they are retaining a professional who is governed by a Code of Ethics and is required to maintain their proficiency with on-going professional development.

Becoming a member of the PEIIA will give you the opportunity to improve the agricultural industry as a whole, by contributing to decision making and policy formulation through discussion with key people in the industry.

Institute sponsored technical sessions and workshops will provide you with opportunities to network with other professionals and disciplines, and increase your knowledge in the agrology profession.

Important Information for International Applicants

In order for the PEIIA to proceed with processing an application for membership in the Prince Edward Island Institute of Agrologists, all applicants must provide proof of residency in Prince Edward Island and proof of ability to work in Canada, if not a Canadian citizen. Applicants must provide official transcripts of all international post-secondary institutions attended. If official transcripts are not in English, you may be asked to provide a translated copy.

Applicants will be asked to provide an original copy of a course-by-course WES (World Education Services) assessment OR a specialized IQAS (International Qualifications Assessment Service) assessment of international degree(s) or diploma(s).

Applicants must complete the PEIIA membership application form. The non-refundable fee for processing international applicants is $125.00 CAD and must be paid at the time of application.

This process can take some time. It may be started in advance of your arrival on PEI, but cannot be completed until residency is established.
